When it comes to anti-counterfeit labels, the first thing that comes to mind is the hologram laser label, because it is a "non-general printing" method that has achieved the anti-counterfeiting effect from the process. The main technological process of ordinary holographic laser labels includes: design → laser engraving master production → electroforming master → make-up → re-electroforming master and upper machine version (also known as “working version”) → molding → coating → die cutting Waste → quality inspection → finished product. However, in fact, the lithography master is affected by many parameters and the surrounding environment during the production process, and the produced masters are not the same, so the labels on the surface that look the same are actually different. In the case where it is difficult for the naked eye to distinguish, using a microscope with more than 40 times can clearly distinguish their differences. This is one of the most important anti-counterfeiting features of laser tags. There are many anti-counterfeiting methods such as encryption settings that will not be described here.

The development of holographic laser tag technology has been quite mature so far. We have sought to break through and adapt to the market. We have invested in traditional printing equipment such as screen printing, letterpress printing, gravure printing, etc., and combined with holographic laser tag technology to do anti-counterfeiting printing, but the effect is not ideal. We are eager to strive to combine holographic lasers with printing in order to enhance our anti-counterfeiting efforts.

Choosing the right digital printing device

With the continuous development and progress of digital printing technology, in 2013 we purchased an EPSON roll-to-roll digital printing press and began to study the use of digital printing with holographic laser labels in order to effectively enhance the anti-counterfeiting effect. As we all know, digital printing does not require plate making, and a good digital printing device has a wider color gamut, a brighter color saturation, smoother gradients, and convenient manipulation but without losing its exquisite beauty. But because of the special nature of digital printing inks, the requirements for substrates are higher. In a word, the combination of digital printing technology and holographic laser labels complement each other in design, which can reduce the unstable factors of the traditional printing man-made control, and is also recognized by the market while facilitating the process.

When selecting a digital printing device, first consider that the holographic laser tag should be tracked and positioned for printing. A roll-to-roll type digital printing press is more suitable, and the tension of the retractable roll must be very stable. At the same time, it must also have a correction system (especially Realize the correctness of the transparent laser film material is perfect), and accurate photoelectric eye tracking device and other functions. Secondly, because holographic laser tags are generally made of PET, there are also transfer papers and other composite materials. At present, few ready-made stamped hologram laser substrates are suitable for direct digital printing. Therefore, primers are required to coat and coat substrates. The base oil needs to have a certain degree of adhesion, brightness, transparency, leveling, and is also very important for the ink affinity of digital printing inks.
